Shutdown 03:24
Lyrics You hang a picture Try recreate us I'm leaning right against your door See my message I post it to you It’s in the flicker of an eye Unglue the headphones Cut the white noise Let me whisper in your ear Press the shutdown Press the shutdown No screen no hex I found some colours Colours Looking for you In psychic dreams I sent some colours Colours Over to you We're not word perfect I'm warm and breathing Give me a minute of your time Press the shutdown Press the shutdown No screen no hex I found some colours Colours Looking for you In psychic dreams I sent some colours Colours Over to you Get off the grid Get off the platform Look, I'm out here I can see you In physic dreams I threw some colours Colours All over to you In psychic dreams I threw some colours Colours In psychic dreams I threw some colours Colours Over to you

Lyrics I need a cigarette Just need a spark now The world's my oyster But outside's a prairie Can’t change my number Someone might call me I built a goddess I still have her wardrobe So Caroline says So Caroline says Leaves tumble red Yellow on her shoes Next time out I’ll have a big time I’ll stop when hell freezes over I prayed for snow once How are you feeling? How are we doing? So Caroline says So Caroline says So Caroline says No one can teach me Your just too old school Waiting for my man It’s just a matter of time All of that kissing Was so amusing It’s getting cold now I’m going home So Caroline says So Caroline says Need a spark now I need a spark now

about

‘Silverlake are not afraid to dance in the shadows; there may be a mirror tile or four missing (from) the rotating disco ball... but Silverlake will always allow you access to the edge of their dancefloor.’ Thoughtful, insightful review for the ‘Shutdown’ EP from the lovely SLAP magazine.

About Shutdown

We've been thinking about lives being lived online and the stresses that puts on us all.

Tech and socials are amazing and can keep us connected, but they can mess with our minds too. Not everyone is living the dream. Maybe we have to sometimes turn off the screen and shut down.

Our band members are no strangers to mental health issues, which is why the proceeds from this release are going to Springfield Mind.

Track Descriptions

Shutdown
He’s hooked, fascinated, can’t leave the window. She wants to see him outside, under the blue sky, with the trees and flowers and real things. Will he take the chance, or will it be too much of a wrench to leave the safety of his controllable, virtual life?

So Caroline Says
A string quartet and Gibson guitar develop a defiant baroque-pop inspired tune. Caroline has just started to realise that she’s no longer young, but she’s not old. She’s made strict rules for herself and she’s holding out – but what is she waiting for?

Black Ponytail (S-Type Mix)
There are the shadows of anger looming and plenty of misunderstanding at the end of a relationship.
